What helps me enjoy nutrition on Thanksgiving

For me, there are 51 other weeks in the year to eat healthy.

And Thanksgiving week is not one of them.

Next week, I’m driving 800 miles with 3 kids and a dog in a minivan to visit my family.

I’ll do my best, but healthy food will be scarce.

Thanksgiving is one of two annual celebrations where my siblings, in-laws, and cousins will be together.

Smoked turkey, s’mores, green bean casserole, butter (with mashed potatoes) and pecan pie will be flowing.

I treat Thanksgiving as a feast.

It’s the one holiday each year I step back and thank God for everything in my life.

Including what’s on my plate.

So for me… I’m gonna focus on thankfulness.

I’ll be moderate.

Kettlebells will be packed.

We’ll go for family walks and enjoy being outside.

But I’m gonna try to focus on thankfulness and contentment next week.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

P.S. I wrote a little theology of feasting article last year.

These are my reflections on feasts in the Bible.

🔎 Finds

6 college athletes were given 10 mg/day of a steroid called Dianabol.

In 4 weeks…

- Their max bench increased by 29 lbs

- Their squat increased by 40 lbs

- They even had roid rage

But the shocker???

They were given a placebo.

It wasn’t Dianabol. It was salt pills.

Their belief was the magic substance.

Wild this caused roid rage too.

150 calories. 30g of protein.

A 5:1 calorie/protein ratio (which is CRAZY good).

And it tastes like chocolate milk. With monk fruit.

Thanks Costco!

And thanks to my mother-in-law who told me about this!

I’m running a 13-mile Spartan Race on Saturday.

This is essentially the training plan I followed for ~4-5 months.

I just used a lot more kettlebells.

Want to lose 10+ lbs by the New Year?

Follow a simple process at home and lose 10-15+ lbs in 40 days.

I cannot guarantee that you’ll have perfect motivation.

Or that your transformation will make you unrecognizable.

But you will make tons of progress.

And… if you don’t lose 10+ pounds, you get your money back.

I’ll see you next week.

Be strong,

Don
