LF #167: 4 Thanksgiving leftover upgrades, Black Friday kettlebell deal, prevent body chafing

Hope you and your family had a wonderful (and delicious) Thanksgiving!

My fav. dish this year?

Green beans + goat cheese + bacon.

It was amazing.

Let’s jump into today’s topics.

I had 20 minutes for a workout. Here’s what I did.

On Wednesday, I had 20 minutes before I had to give the kids’ lunch.

Not enough time for the gym.

Barely enough time for a warm-up.

So I grabbed my kettlebell and went outside.

Set a timer.

And in 18 minutes I hit every major muscle group (using my 71 pounder):

  • 1 hand alternating swing: 2 sets of 20 reps

  • Goblet lunges: 2 sets of 6-8 reps

  • 1 hand rows: 2 sets of 8-10 reps

  • KB offset push-ups: 2 sets of 15-20 reps

  • Farmer’s carry: 2 sets of 45 second carries

The structure is simple.

Pick one movement from each of the five categories.

  1. Hinge: swings, deadlifts, etc…

  2. Squat: goblet squat, lunges, etc…

  3. Pull: rows, pull-ups, cleans, snatches, etc…

  4. Push: push-up, press, bench, etc…

  5. Carry: farmer’s carry, get-up, etc…

Then run it like this:

  • 2 sets of every movement

  • Pick your rep range (5-20)

And get to work.

If you’re ever squeezed for time, try this structure.

Enjoy!
