Make a food routine (takes 10 minutes)
There are morning routines.
And evening routines.
These work… so why not have a food routine?
Here’s how I’ve built my food routine (takes 10 minutes):
List 1-3 healthy breakfasts you like
List 1-3 healthy lunches you like
List 3-5 healthy dinners you like
List 1-3 healthy snacks you like
List 1-3 healthy drinks you like
(that’s a list of only 6 - 17 items)
Eat from your food routine 80% of the week.
Here’s my food routine:
Breakfast (2 I like)
2 eggs + 2 spoonfuls cottage cheese
3 eggs + pepper jack cheese
Lunch (2 I like)
Chicken + lettuce + cucumber + hummus + tzatziki
Ground beef + sweet potato + pickles + mustard
Dinner (4 I like)
Bacon-wrapped chicken thighs + sweet potatoes
Chicken + broccoli + rice + 1 tbsp barbecue sauce
Sautéed shrimp + sweet salsa in a tortilla + green beans
Ground beef + iceberg lettuce + avocado + fajita veggies
Snack (2 I like)
¾ cup of Greek Yogurt + protein powder + fruit
Built Bar (brownie batter my favorite now)
Drinks (3 I like)
2 coffee/day (with whole milk)
1 cup of tea/day (with 1 tbsp of honey)
1 Olipop/day (~35 calories, Root Beer my fav flavor)
The other 20%?
Little Caesar’s on Fridays
Blue Bell Ice cream 1-2x/week
The random late night craving of Nutella I just can’t fight
The unexpected Tuesday night we eat out when our plans crumble
You probably already have 6-17 foods you cycle through without realizing it.
A food routine infuses intentionality to build new habits.
Hope this serves.
