It’s Friday.
And Friday’s are pizza night in my house.
I’m not talking about the cauliflower crusted kind with broccoli and fake cheese.
I’m talking about the kind so good it makes your mouth water.
Let’s jump in.

Lose weight without skipping pizza night
You probably have a favorite food.
Maybe it’s a burger. Donuts. Churros. Steamy sourdough bread + butter.
For me, it’s pizza.
And the idea of giving up pizza while losing weight was a tough one to stomach.
(dad joke)
So here’s how the pizza stays while the weight goes.
Figure out your calorie goal for weight loss
Use this calculator.
It’ll tell you what your daily calorie goal is.
Let’s say it’s 2,000.
Use your calorie goal as a weekly budget
Here’s where the magic of pizza night happens.
2,000 calories is not a daily goal.
It’s a weekly budget.
As long as you average out to 2,000 calories per day, you will lose weight.
Here’s what this could look like.
Days | The Daily Dad | Pizza Night Dad |
|---|---|---|
Monday | 2,000 | 1,800 |
Tuesday | 2,000 | 1,800 |
Wednesday | 2,000 | 1,800 |
Thursday | 2,000 | 1,800 |
Friday | 2,000 | 🍕 3,000 |
Saturday | 2,000 | 2,000 |
Sunday | 2,000 | 1,800 |
Weekly Avg. Budget | 2,000 | 2,000 |
Same averages. Same budget. Same results.
It’s hard because you can’t have it all.
But this process will teach you discipline and self-control.
And honestly, I’ve found I enjoy pizza more when it’s saved for just Friday nights.
Anywho.
Hope this helps.
🔎 Finds
What a delicious list.
#13 - a warm chocolate cup with < 200 calories.
A steal.
Fascinating study.
Barefoot children performed better in motor skills (jump, balance, & run) than kids with shoes.
My kids love running around barefoot.
Guess it helps.
The simple solutions stick the longest.
This is a great list.
#1 (eat without distractions) was one lesson I learned this year.
Lose 10+ lbs in 40 days (or your money back)
Follow a simple process at home and lose 10+ lbs in 40 days.
I cannot guarantee that you’ll have perfect motivation.
Or that your transformation will make you unrecognizable.
But you will make tons of progress.
And… if you don’t lose 10+ pounds, you get your money back.
I’ll see you next week.
Be strong,
Don
