How I lost 20-40+ lbs (as a busy dad)

A few years ago I gained 40 lbs and was the most stressed I’d ever been.

  • HR responsibility for 4 manufacturing plants in 3 states

  • Regular 5:30am commutes

  • 30% travel

I was a young husband and dad who was prioritizing work over everything else.

Including my health.

I tried fixing it with Paleo. HIIT workouts. Dumbbells.

Nothing stuck.

But what actually worked was very simple.

  1. Kettlebells

I started looking forward to exercise (whaaaaat?).

I had fun in my garage again.

  1. Movement

I started craving walks. Made my mind sharper.

Took my kids with me too.

  1. Simple nutrition

Repeatable meals, protein targets, and simple target.

I’m starting to enjoy these more.

It’s nice to have a target on the calendar to work towards.

Also I ran it with a friend.

Friends make fitness more fun.

Chewed these while running the Spartan Race.

(took 4 hours lol, needed it)
