💪 Deep Dive
High v. Low-Leverage Exercise
The most valuable resource for a busy parent is time.
And parents can waste a lot of it when exercising at the gym.
30+ minutes driving to/from the gym…
45+ minute bodybuilder splits at the gym…
10+ minutes waiting to use gym equipment…
Analysis-paralysis with dozens of gym machines to pick from…
This is low-leverage exercise.
It works right up until your job ramps up, your kids get sick, or your schedule fills up.
Then it’s tossed right out the window.
If your goal is to “lose weight and get healthier”, you don’t have to train like this.
Instead, try high-leverage exercise.
This saves you time, while accomplishing more.
30+ minute gym commutes ➡️ 30-minutes training at home
45+ minute gym sessions ➡️ efficient 30-minute workouts
10+ minutes waiting for gym equipment ➡️ the home gym equipment fast-pass
$10,000+ of gym equipment ➡️ just a few kettlebells
Less time. More progress.
High-leverage.
Hope this serves.

🔎 Finds
Here are my favorite finds/resources this week.
“L-cysteine” is an ingredient that makes dough easier to work with industrial machines.
It can be made from corn, duck feathers, and animal or human hair.
Ummm… gross.
To ensure you’re not eating hairy bread:
- make sure L-cysteine is not on the ingredient list
- Get bread with “Halal”, “Kosher”, or “Vegan” on the packaging
- just skip supermarket bread and get it elsewhere
Ultra-processed foods make up 55% of the American diet.
These foods are linked to obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and depression.
Slow-wave sleep is critical for brain function, muscle repair, and even pain management.
Get more of this by:
- Getting 10 minutes of sun in the morning
- Exercise & move during the day
- Cut out afternoon caffeine
- Avoid alcohol
