LF #170: How to get motivated, Tzatziki tastiness, journals I use

Christmas is next week!

One of our traditions is to go to Goodwill and pick out Christmas pajamas.

And since we live in SE Texas, our Goodwill is by the beach.

So we walk on the beach afterwards.

Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas next week.

Let’s jump right in.

Get clarity on fitness goals with 3 questions

I’ve been using a few reflection questions to set priorities for 2026.

And they have been kicking me in the teeth!

(in the best possible way)

These questions dig out the gunk and give you clarity.

  • Block off 1-2 hours

  • Put the phone away

  • Answer these 3 questions

The answers don’t have to be perfect.

But the answers will help you get clarity for your fitness in 2026.

  1. What are the biggest fitness lessons you learned from 2025 that you don’t want to forget or repeat?

  1. If you had to remove one thing to 2x your fitness progress, what would it be and why haven’t you done it yet?

  1. If you were accountable to someone else for your fitness, what is your 12 month plan and what would you be held accountable for that you’re currently not holding yourself accountable for?

My own experience answering these questions:

  • #1 forced me to reflect on my mistakes and learn

  • #2 helped me be honest about why I’m slow to change

  • #3 reminded me that I’m ultimately accountable to God for everything in my life

Once you’ve done this…

Take action.

Hope this serves.

James Clear shares a 3-part system to bust through motivational lulls.

So helpful.

3 truths in this article:

1) You don’t need motivation

2) You can do things without motivation

3) Motivation is a reward

I have Tzatziki 4-5x/week.

It’s amazing.

And low calorie… just 30-50 calories per 2 tbsp.

Compare that with mayo (200 calories per 2 tbsp).

It’s the cream of the creamy sauce crop.

These are the journals I’m using right now.

I’ve used 12+ of these in the past.

Big fan of the bullet journal.

I cannot guarantee that you’ll have perfect motivation.

Or that your transformation will make you unrecognizable.

But you will make tons of progress.

And have accountability.

I hope you have a merry Christmas.

Be strong,

Don
